Umpherston Sink hole, Mt Gambier, South Australia. This was once a cave formed through the dissolution of limestone. The sinkhole was formed when the roof of the cave collapsed and formed the new floor of the cave. In 1886 it was beautified by James Umpherston. It is now open to the public. The gardens are floodlit at night.
